    I tried your original link to see if I could get it to post because it's a good starter set of rules.


    I started shooting bowling pins right after it was brought out into the public. It could be shot on some indoor ranges if there was enough room so shooters could get out of the weather. At the beginning is always fun because you get to experiment and adjust the rules and ideas for more fun! I was one of the testers for the original 'pin grabber' bullets:

    The serrations were supposed to grab the least amount of surface area on the pin in order to impart a spin to force the pin off the table. There were a ton of others, mostly hand made, trying to create the most imbalance resulting from lesser hits.

    You can still shoot for fun but it's devolved into another speed shooting game where hardware and blinding speed wins the day.

    I remember that there were several "magic" bullets that were supposed to help. I did my best times with cast bullets in my Gold Cup but learned not to use too light a load. It is disconcerting when one of them flattens out on a pin and bounces straight back and smacks you in the chest. 😁Pin shooting got its big start here in Michigan with the guys from Last Chance so I was exposed to it early. One of our local indoor ranges was still conducting indoor 22 matches the last time I checked, so I guess the sport is still limping along. Bob

    Misleading heading on my part?! These are key-chain sized pinfire "guns"! Made by Xythos in Austria I believe. These are no more 1 1/2" long and shoot a 2mm rounds! The boxes of ammo which hold aprox. 36 rounds are 5/8" wide, 5/8" tall & 3/8" deep! One set came with an adopter to fire flares! And the flares. I picked these up in Germany probably 30 years ago.

    You can say that twice!

    Pinfires and Pin Shooters are two totally different ideas. A better suggestion is to actually use the term 'Pinfire' or Miniature Pinfire firearms.
