IMHO, shipping a firearm between countries is a can of worms. If you have never done it before. Best to locate a firearms dealer in Canada, who has experience in shipping firearms to the US.

No question it will be more expensive. But likely to prevent any aggravation and legal problems in the long run.

An import license is issued to a person or company in the business of importing firearms to the US; it is not for you, "the customer". Simpson's website gives you an idea of how much red tape (& money) are involved in an individual importing a single firearm. All imports must be shipped to a bonded warehouse, where mandatory import markings are applied.

    Don't do it?

What possible firearm can be purchased in Canada that would be worth shipping south to the US? Just buy it in the US where we are still relatively free.
