My Dad lost his teeth fighting hand to hand in the B O B.

    THE GREATEST GENERATION. EVER!!!

BTW - he won the fight.

And the 101st ABN marched in to Battle without proper supplies, Winter clothing, adequate ammunition, etc. while others fled.

When told they were surrounded, their CO replied, "Hell we're Airborne. We're always surrounded."

Some tough and relentless Soldiers that held the line, and turned the tide.

*When Patton later claimed to have "rescued" them, None of the 101st agreed or would say they needed rescuing.

My FIL was there. He said is was the most miserable time he ever went through. And that was due to the cold. We recently found a map that he traced his travels on. He was all over France and into Germany. He was a S/SGT and commander of a Greyhound Scout vehicle.

    RIP Lewis.

They fought and died for freedom and country. We hide from a disease that has a 99+% survival rate.

My grandfather fought there. He never rid himself of the demons that haunted him the rest of his life from what he experienced. He took no pride in his military years, he just wanted to get back home to his farm and family in Iowa.
