Harmless stuff; might fight Covid-19: Vitamin D, Vitamin C, raw leeks when ill, natural chelators.
Several sources online are saying that vitamin D can cut your chances of infection. It can also cut down on how much damage covid-19 can do. Scientists are saying they no longer think it's as toxic in higher doses than they used to and it might be safe to take a slightly larger dose. What the new safe maximum dose is seems to vary from source to source and by type, D2 being a little less safe than D3. There's always sunlight.
The Shanghai health department has recommended vitamin C for infected people.
Someone on this site once mentioned that raw ramps were a folk cure for almost anything infectious. Some sources online claim leeks greatly strengthen the immune system specifically for Covid-19 and they are a lot like ramps. They can also cause intestinal bleeding in large amounts. If an emergency supply is frozen and kept ready for infection, then a few raw leeks can be consumed as needed.
Some sources claimed Covid-19 kills red blood cells and there is too much iron in the blood for the liver to easily cope with. The iron is in a free radical form and is toxic. If an infection is getting bad, maybe it would pay to have some safe, gentle, natural chelators like beans or whole grains or bran, combined with natural sources of minerals like eggs or nuts, so healthy minerals didn't get run down by the chelator.

I can see where raw leeks would work, eat enough and nobody will come around you.

Supplying your body with the proper nutrients is always important. Certain segments of the population have poor diets. This may be why some inner city death rates from covid 19 are higher than the neighboring suburbs. For instance some studies have shown those that have low zinc levels are more likely to have a covid infection become life threatening. For reasons other than covid my doctor has me on a zinc and vitamin D regimen. Perhaps it will help if I contact covid, but I hope I don't find out. Bob

Finally, because the COVID-19 vaccines are so new, long-term side effects are not yet fully understood. Dr. Russo notes that vaccine makers, as well as the FDA, will continue to gather detailed data after a vaccine is released to the general public.

My VA doctor told me some time ago that I was deficient in vitamin D and put me on supplements. I have A LOT of it. I also have heard that it support immune health and I have been taking it religiously. I work in a grocery store and I have been completely fine.

Add zinc pills to that list and you've got it.

I think it's kind of interesting. Here we are, some of us, with the hubris to presume we can "save the planet" while at the same time the Earth is laying us low with one of its most basic organisms.

There are some mild chelators available from stores like Vitamin Shoppe. They have a product with EDTA called "Cardio Chelate" which is supposed to reduce arterial plaque.
Taking one or two of those if really ill might remove that disease-damaged hemoglobin but another poster mentioned zinc. Unfortunately, EDTA is a broad spectrum chelator and would not discriminate against zinc but would remove it.
That might be why it's better to stick with food based chelators or take a mineral source after chelating such as a multivitamin or eggs or nuts.

Only neckbeards think that they can "save the planet"................the rest of us realize that the planetary forces and systems work in cycles beyond the control of man.
