Zombie gun question
First.....yes I have heard that the coming vaccinations have been debunked about altering the genetics in your DNA. What would you expect the government to do....ADMIT that the vaccinations will change your DNA? Of course they have to...."debunk".... that theory online. On to the serious question.
To the point of this post. When (not if, but when) the zombie apocalypse happens, what size hole (bullet) is going to take care of a zombie? Will a simple 22 size hole do the trick? (you can carry more ammo) Or do you need a bigger hole, like a 9mm, a 45acp or larger hole like a rifle round? Or do you need to completely blow their heads off to stop them. If a shotgun is used to blow their heads off, how do you keep the blood from getting on you? Because we all know that if you are contaminated by their blood, either through a bite or blood being splatted on you, you will turn into a zombie also. Close up fighting with a machette is out of the question, of course. Blood will surely splatter on you fighting that close up.
I NEED to get prepared. What say you?

when the show came out "walking dead" I watched it for a few seasons then they started to come up with new plots ( following the book / comic I was told ) and stories after all how many zombies can you kill and keep the show going and common sense would say they would all just rot away in short order
they started by shooing them in the head did not matter with what 22 357 223 what ever they had
then crossbow long bow knifes base ball bats , trying to keep interest I guess
bottom line what ever you have will work use the 22's first cheapest way to go

Will the new Colt Python work as well as the old Colt Python in regards to zombies? Can I substitute one of my S&W 357s , like my 586? I do want to keep up appearances and not make a zombie killer fashion faux pas. Bob

allways wondered that part also, after 6months to a year at most the body should rot away till only thing left would be pile bones... and they must really taste awful, you never see buzzards eating the brain dead corpses

An old man that used to live down the road from me (since passed) once told me that in every house, that he could see from his home on the hill, at least 1 if not every person that lived there, were on the government dole in some way.
And in each house at least 1 person was on drugs of some fashion. Some were illegal but others were prescription.
And when, not if, the government fails, those people will be our zombies!
They will come looking for the folks that may have food, medications, and guns stashed away. He pointed at himself and me.
He said, "Shoot 'em in the head!" He did not specify, what with.
I imagine Covid could play a major role in his scenario in several ways.
Something to think about. Us, old retired couples, living remote, a few pain pills in the cabinet, supplies in the pantry, freezer full of venison....
It may be time to harden our defenses, as they say?

A few years ago #1 brought us about 20 loose .22 rounds. She had retrieved them from her dryer. It appeared that grandson had determined that since Mimi and Pawpaw were prepared for the zombie apocalypse he needed to be as well. He had secreted a pocketful of ammo home.
So, out of the mouths of babes, a .22 should do the trick.

Drones equipped with power blades like a weed wacker! Working remotely is the only way to stay out of harm from those zombie &^%$(*&!
The blades would have to be long enough to behead them.
This pretending stuff reminds me of when I was just a poor little white boy! 😁

Guns mostly for other human targets. Handgun is a no brainer, Glock 17 for obvious reasons. Then for me an AR-15 in 5.56 for the same reasons as the Glock. Wouldn't waste ammo on zombies when a blade or axe would kill and won't run out of precious ammo. I think a short spear or pike, backed up by a short sword or long bayonet would be my choice of a zombie weapon.

This copy of an English boarding pike would be an excellent choice. The blade is a little over 6" so plenty of length to reach the brain and the wooden handle could be replaced in the field if broken. In fact an effective weapon even without the handle.

Anything Suppressed. Don't need to call more in.
Always thought a Ruger 10-22 with 25-30 shot magazine, would be great out to 50 yards Then switch over to a pistol for close up shots. After that I can't run so........ I'll join the horde.

^^^THIS^^^ (just make sure to use sub-sonic ammo)
Actually, a 22 bolt action is quieter but if they're close enough to hear the action of a 10-22 cycle, they're in range anyway.

I have a .458 SOCOM to thump them with, but I don't really think that the caliber matters that much. The MOST important thing is to shoot them with silver bullets. All of you guys who have been hoarding silver bars and rounds and American Eagles...........now is the time to melt them down and cast them into bullets of your chosen flavor. Silver bullets kill vampires, werewolves and zombies DRT.........if I am correct..........silver bullets might make them explode.

Suppressed Ruger 10/22 takedown. Add a 25 round magazine and a red dot (if you wish). Light and easy to handle, the entire rifle takes down into two compact pieces and can be reassembled in about five seconds.
Toss in a suppressed .22LR Glock 19, and you ae set for zombie hunting:

Mark.........those are for Israeli's hunting sling shot wielding Palestinian terrorists..............well the 10/22 anyway..........a shot to the butt stops the rock slinging.
