    Vista Outdoors bought the plant for around $80 million and is supposed to be recalling idle workers and making ready to resume production. With the high demand for ammo, this may prove to be an amazing investment for Vista.

    Yep, the lowly 3 star private will be pealing 'taters for quite some time if that battle gets started.... thanks for the updates, it's nice to see what is going on with big "R", I'm still a fan..

    Savage didn't do anything. The two of us were simply on parallel paths with Remington.

    In the meantime, I'm still trying to figure out how I managed to pi$$ a member off by asking him to call me Mark?

    It's been one of those days.

    My writing has a lot to be desired especially when I use the phone to type. I keep it short as possible and sometimes it comes across as quite gruff.

    If Savage and Mark want to tussle, I will buy the alcohol for steralizing the wounds. They would both be good company in recovery.

    There has been a lot of talk about Remington filling for bankruptcy again and selling Marlin to Ruger. However I have not heard anything about the fate of the plant in Ilion or the ammunition plant in Arkansas. If anybody knows anything about these matters I would like to hear it. Thanks

    First and foremost, Remington is not 'selling' anything. This is a bidding process handled by the court system handling the bankruptcy. Here is the earlier breakdown which has held true:

    Court Announces Successful Bidders for Assets of Bankrupt Remington Outdoor Company

    On September 27th, the US Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Alabama Northern Division Field posted a notice of successful bidders for the assets of the Remington Outdoor Company.

    There’s a lot of information so we’ve put the successful primary and backup bidders in bold and the Remington business in italics.

    • Vista Outdoor, Inc. as the Successful Bidder pursuant to the terms of the Asset Purchase Agreement…with respect to the Lonoke Ammunitions Business* and certain IP assets; and SIG Sauer, Inc. as the Backup Bidder thereto pursuant to the terms of the Asset Purchase Agreement…with respect to the Lonoke Ammunitions Business;

    • Roundhill Group, LLC** as the Successful Bidder pursuant to the terms of the Asset Purchase Agreement…with respect to the non-Marlin Firearms Business; and Huntsman Holdings, LLC and Century Arms, Inc. as the Backup Bidders thereto pursuant to the terms of the Asset Purchase Agreement…with respect to certain Firearms Business IP assets certain non-Marlin Firearms Business inventory, respectively;

    • Sierra Bullets, L.L.C. as the Successful Bidder pursuant to the terms of the Asset Purchase Agreement…with respect to the Barnes Ammunitions Business; and Barnes Acquisition LLC as the Backup Bidder thereto pursuant to the terms of the Asset Purchase Agreement…with respect to the Barnes Ammunitions Business;

    • Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. as the Successful Bidder pursuant to the terms of the Asset Purchase Agreement…with respect to the Marlin Firearms Business; and Long Range Acquisition LLC as the Backup Bidder thereto pursuant to the terms of the Asset Purchase Agreement…with respect to the Marlin Firearms Business;

    • JJE Capital Holdings, LLC*** as the Successful Bidder with respect to the DPMS, H&R, Stormlake, AAC, and Parker brands;

    • Franklin Armory Holdings, Inc., or its designated assignee, as the Successful Bidder with respect to the Bushmaster brand and certain related assets; and

    • Sportsman’s Warehouse, Inc. as the Successful Bidder with respect to the Tapco brand.

    There is a hearing scheduled for 29 September to approve the those bids.

    * Lonoke Ammunitions Business is Remington ammunition

    ** Roundhill Group, LLC specializes in real estate development.

    *** JJE Capital Holdings, LLC owns Palmetto State Armory

    _________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    Roundhill Group, LLC is currently working on several fronts to restore the Remington firearms brand to its once top tier standing. The legal ramifications entail obtaining the FFL and business licenses. Without these there is no business to rebuild. This involves a ton of corporate structuring also.

    The employees who were laid off at Ilion could not remain employed without the licenses being brought down for the new owners. It would be illegal to manufacture firearms without the licenses. Yes, we all feel bad that they're out of work but the legalities preclude any manufacturing until those necessities are resolved. The maintenance and janitorial employees are on staff and working.

    There are significant negotiations involving unions which represent those employees as well.

    Roundhill issued a press release:

    “As is known, Roundhill Group LLC and a group of experienced firearms manufacturing and hunting industry professionals are in the process of purchasing Remington Firearms. Our intent with this acquisition is to return the company to its traditional place as an iconic American hunting brand. We intend to maintain, care for and nurture the brand and all of the dedicated employees who have crafted these products over the years for outdoorsmen and women both here in the USA and abroad. More than anything, we want to make Remington a household name that is spoken with pride.”

    Best.
