Well???
Really fun match and I was on a good squad. Unfortunately it was not my best day.
I had 2 stages where I did not engage a target (ran past a shooting position) & I had 2 other stages where I shot a few âno shootsâ each shot into a no shoot is a penalty, and a few shots that landed on âhard coverâ instead of on the target.
Every stage was full of no-shoots, hard cover and very high round count.
The competition was just better this time around. It is lots of homework on what I need to be working on. I donât think my local club matches are really throwing enough no shoots or hardcover, so I am going to further work on that.
Fun shooting- & it is back to the dwg board for me!

Hope you at least had a good time.

Sometimes we learn the most when we don't do as good as we expect.
At least it was a fun match with good folks.
My last sanctioned IDPA match went about the same way. It was the 2018 Snake River Regional Championship. LOTS of hard cover and no-shoots and it almost felt like those became bullet magnets! LOL! I had match jitters to start with since I'd only shot one big match before and I wound up on a squad with two guys that went on to win their divisions, SSP and CCP, and the SSP guy was high overall. I learned a lot watching those two!

NeoBlackdog - Yes! I still shot very well but the reality is to take the next step I canât have those mistakes.
I think for the next few months my stage planning is going to be maximum movement and bring more speed physical speed.
Ironically the 2021 Fl State championship is about 4 weeks out. I am not sure I will spend the $ to shoot it, but I need to decide soon.
My next big match will most likely be USPSA area 6 championship in North Carolina this April. -that should he enough time to adjust my style and see an improvement.
I definitely want to shoot Nationals in October next year in Alabama- but to have a good chance to get in, you have to be shooting majors not just club matches.
Still a ton of fun!

If you're learning it was time and effort well spent. As you know the real competition is with yourself.
