Anyone else remember Expo 86?

I was bouncing around the ocean courtesy of my favorite uncle with the 86 World's Fair Opened.
The only one I have attended was Expo 74 in Spokane. Made a world of difference to the city. Sadly the downtown area is returning to craphole it was prior to the fair.

I remember Expo 67 in Montreal. I was 12 and the best thing about it was smuggling firecrackers back to Michigan where they were illegal. I was the most popular kid on the block while they lasted. I hope the statute of limitations has run out or by admitting this I might get a visit from the border cops.😁 Bob

We went to Expo 86 while on our way to Alaska. A lot to see. My favorite part was a laser light show at night.

I went to the '64 Worlds Fair, but don't remember a lot about it as I was only 10 years old!

I went to it. My mother drove up with a friend of hers & I met her at the airport in Seattle & went with them. My sister also drove up separately with her kids. She was leading & I was driving my mother's car when she went through a light that just turned red & T-boned a car. The cop who came told her SEVERAL times that she wouldn't have to pay the ticket IF SHE NEVER CAME BACK TO CANADA. I also went to one in Tennessee & they were enough alike I am not too sure of what I saw at each one. I do remember a female guide at the Soviet pavilion discussing with a U.S. WW II vet his desire to visit Stalingrad. I remember the Terra Cota figures at the Chinese pavilion but that may have been Tennessee.

I was at the 64/65 worlds fair at flushing meadows several times , as a kid I would take the local green bus from West Hempstead on Hempstead Tpke. in Nassau county to the Queens bus transfer off of Jamaica Ave. , at the elevated railroad (the EL) and take the red bus to my cousins home on Cooper ave meet him and then take a special bus to the fair.
Great times, I STILL have a few mementoes from my trips there, including, a FORD green luminescent badge you got at the ford exhibit where you could ride a convertible to see the future, a B52 balancing plastic toy from the USA exhibit, a Pieta medal from the Vatican exhibit, an " Official Guide Book" that cost me a DOLLAR !
Don't forget this was the first time fast-food "Chicken Delight " debuted, had my first Belgium waffle with strawberries and whipped cream, and the "Chun-King" canned Chinese food served on paper plates oh boy tasty ;]
It was a great times as a 14 year old along with my best friend , my cousin then 13, looking back it feels like just last week,.
