Never had that kind of call, but if I did I would likely have to take the smart ass approach.

I've had two calls in the last month from total strangers pizzed off because I'm calling them.

I asked if they've had a robocall about their car warranty expiring, like I have on a weekly basis from a different number each time. They had, so I explained the numbers are spoofed, and they are probably using my number now, as well as theirs.

Yes. Mine was a bit weirder. I got texts from a former co-worker's then girlfriend, accusing me of being "the other woman" (my sex being harder to identify via text, I guess). It was particularly odd for several reasons:

    1) I hadn't talked to the former co-worker in many years and last I had heard he and his wife were happily married still.

    2) To this day I wonder how he/she ever got my phone number. It had changed about 2 months before (to an out of area code number, no less) and he was not in my contacts list to have been notified of the change. I did not have his number (or hers) in my contact list.

    3) I was being accused of having a "boy haircut". I'm pretty sure that is true.

    4) I was repeatedly told to stay away from her man and many strings of texts describing how awful and ugly I look.

    5) My former co-worker is Mormon and not known for stepping out, even though his wife of 20+ years was some 400 lbs and mostly couldn't even walk.

    6) My former co-worker isn't what anyone would consider to be a catch physically-- pretty stereotypical nerdy thin and gaunt electrical engineer who needs thick corrective lenses, and was apparently in some love triangle. So far as I know, his wife's many weight related health issues prevented him from being wealthy.

    7) My wife saw the confusing texts and jumped to some conclusions that I was cheating on HER with some guy's wife! I recall that it took a bit to get that straightened out.

    8) Later I learned that his wife had passed away not 3 weeks prior to this text conversation.

He ended up marrying the woman who had texted me, and I've run into them on a couple occasions, and I keep wondering if I should mention it to them. She is much, much younger than my former co-worker to boot! I have also learned the lesson that "sorry wrong number, I am a guy" isn't going to quench the fires of a woman scorned.

No but I did put my ex-wife’s boyfriend’s head through a Sheetrock wall. You can’t do that over the phone.

When I worked at Sears selling tool i had a guy call asking why his wife had my card, and what were the numbers on the back-up address? I told him to read me the numbers.....they were a tool set and top box, about $1k worth of tools...this was in the o0s, so quite a bit. I asked if he had a birthday coming up, and he did admit their anniversary was soon, so i told him she probably talked to me about his present since I did not use the cards for personal things. He made a comment about having my address from the phone book, and I told him that would be a bad idea... just put the card back where it was and forget about it if he wanted his wife to buy him $1k worth of tools.

Several months later a woman comes in a lull little too nicely dressed for just mall shopping and asked for me, and tells me she needed to apologize for her now ex husbands actions. She said she had talked to me about buying him tools, then stopped by his office to surprise him. And surprised he and another woman. At a court hearing he accused her of having an affair because he found my business card.... well that didnt go over in court. Never heard from him again. And after getting a cellphone I got rid of the home phone!

Yes, recieved a phone call from a very angry guy wanting to speak to his wife. He wouldn't believe that she wasn't there. I finally asked him what number he was calling. He stated area code 713 (Texas.) I was in area code 712 (Iowa.) We both had a good chuckle at that point. Of course when he first asked to speak to his wife, I did look around the room to see if I missed someone.

Had a guy call me, and was quite upset that I was answering his home phone. Wanted to know to know why the h$%l I was there. I explained that he called me. My area code is 970. He was calling from 978. Pretty sure just a misdial, but he wasn't hearing it.

like most I have had my share of strange and random calls over the years

my favorite about 25 + years ago before I started not answering unless I knew them

some obvious intoxicated gal called me and it goes like this

ring "her" Bob I need you to come and pick me up my car will not start .

"me' I have no idea who Bob is or who you are you must have hit a wrong number , click I hung up

a few minutes later "ring her " again Bob I need you to come and get me at so and so bar my car will not start

"me again" I told you I am not Bob I have no clue stop calling this number and hang up

5 minutes later Ring Bob ?

me had to run with it , yep this is Bob what do need . her why the heck did you keep telling me your not Bob I need help my car will not start I am at the bar it late and I need a ride home

me, I was just messing with you sorry ' her' that's not funny now get here asap

Me Ok give me about 10 to 15 minutes maybe a bit longer I will meet you by your car

her well hurry up I need you help me Ok then click I hung up went back to bed never had another call that night or any night from her after that

OK thinking back maybe she was surly some really hot great looking 25 year gal old in desperate need "NOT "

my guess some 50ish old over weight ugly as a mud fence after a rain storm bar fly with a junk car that let her down

besides that late at night at a bar and no one hit on her or offered to take her home even with beer googles she had to be homely LOL
