True story.
Wife and I use to hit gun and pawn shops on a regular basis. Stopped at a nice pawn/gun shop and moved on to next stop, a jewelry store about 1/4 mile away
I stayed in the car while she browsed around. About 30 minutes later she comes out and we move on. She left behind a very nice ring from an estate, her weakness.
Dropped her off at the "mall" and my routine was Tractor Supply. Only this time I rushed back to the jewelry store to do the dirty deed.
Asked jeweler if he remembered the lady that drooled over a antique ring about 30 minutes earlier, yep got it right here.
Handed the man payment and asked him to tell my wife that he had sold the ring if she called back.
Sure enough next day I came in from work and she was blue as could be. What is wrong I asked. She said she had called the jeweler and someone had bought the ring.
A few months later the ring showed up under the Christmas tree. Paul Harvey would say "you know the rest of the story"
