Remington Keene Rifle Questions
I have recently acquired one of these in a collection I bought. I had never seen one. I can find very little online. About 5000 total manufactured in total in about 5 different configurations. I can find no other image like the one I have. It has a 20" barrel with a button magazine and shotgun butt. On another site it stated that the only serial number is on the underside of the bolt. That being the case mine is #69. I posted this on the Remington Historical web forum with no response. I will post photos shortly.

The only listing I have for a 20" barrel is in the Blue Book. They do not give a value because of rarity for the 20". Is it in 45/70? Bob

Yes 45-70. Based on the availability of the other rounds, I'm glad it is. I was impressed by the quality of manufacture. A repeating 45-70 would have been something to contend with.

Most of the wear on the blue is from someone trying to clean it with something abrasive like dry steel wool.

I don't know a whole about them, but Remington has less info on them than Forgotten Weapons. Mike? there has been keeping a data base, and from your serial, may have been in the first lot sold to the USID. I would check there.
