ID on a French Muzzleloader
At that stage in life where the parents are moving out of there home of 53 years into a nursing home. My Dad wants me to see what I can find out about the French musket pictured. I believe it's a Charleville but not 100% sure. I know it's a French proofed flintlock musket, .54 caliber, round barrel, lock plate marked “Delpire A Paris”; fine wood stock with damaged period repair. This gun is in overall good condition. The only markings are the Delpire A Pari, 3 single marks on the underside of the barrel and a surname of Cottin on the sling. I know J . Delpire was a French Armorer for the 7th Regiment Swiss Royal French Guard under Louis XVI. Cottin is a French sur name from southern France so I welcome any and all thoughts and a Hardy Thank you for your input. I'll try and upload better pics.

The half stock configuration and 54 caliber. Doesn't appear to me, to be a French military flintlock of the 18th/19th Centuries. Their military muskets were around 70+ caliber, and full stocked. Because of this my WAG it's for hunting rather than a military musket.
Over and above that, both the metal and wooden stock appear to have been cleaned. The normal patentia found on 200? year old flintlock isn't visible?
