Venison in the freezer

Went up to SC today for a day of deer hunting ended up getting 2 does for the freezer now that I have some venison tomorrow I'll see if I can get a nice buck. Used the 6.5 grendel today kinda of impressed by that little round.

Only seen one that had a decent rack the only shot he was giving me was a Texas heart shot decided to pass on that

    Got my freezer full. My deer lease is 35 miles from home, but I stay in my camper for at least a week. (Gotta do some campfire sittin' and whiskey swillin') Popped an 8 point on the 15th, then his sweetheart on the 29th. They both fell to my 6.5 CM at almost the same spot. Both dropped in their tracks.

    Does are the best eating for sure! I give the buck meat away, except for back straps and the tenderloins, those I keep for myself.

    I've put two in the freezer this year. I may go out and get another one. Years ago when I had more mouths to feed I would put six a year in the freezer and some years I put some in other people's freezers to help them out. I sure am slowing down as I get older.
