Tula ammo
I was hunting with 308 Tulammo and had two to snap on the best buck I ever had a shot at , are they known to misfire .

I don't know but there is much better hunting ammo available.

I have an M14 and bought a case of the Tulammo and decided with all that ammo I needed a hunting rifle in that caliber ,bought a Savage and had shot it a dozen times no problem till that happened ,I did buy some more ammo to hunt with and got a 9 pt but not like what I missed .

Tula to me is not hunting anything ammo. Last ditch stuff to practice with at best. imo

It's practice or plinking ammo. Hunting? There is normally so much invested in a hunt that saving a few $$$ on ammo is a recipe for the exact disappointment you experienced.

I don't know about the 308 Tula? But the 7.62 x 39, have very hard, (lawyer proof) primers. Had to install a +20% hammer spring, in my AR build for reliable ignition. Even had FTF's in a original Russian SKS, which amazed me. Shot it for years with all kinds of military ammo without problems.
Not all the Tula ammo have FTF problems. The old stuff goes pop all the time. It's just the new manufactured ammo. Wit the lawyer proof hard primers.

I have shot numerous deer with the commie stuff in 308 soft point. One couldn't tell if it was shot with superx, hornady or remington with the results. In fact this week I shot one DRT with a 7.62x39 rd.
