too funny but great news
My youngest son and his wife came by said they had brought us a gift for thanksgiving as were not all getting together
they handed each of us a box , my wife opened up her box first burst into tears caught me off guard
what's in the box ?
in the box was a copy of ultra sound where my DIL was pregnant and a shirt with grand ma Gwen est 2021 and I had a shirt in my box with my name with the same logo
our first grand kid is on the way. yes were al excited .
the funny part my wife was winding down getting ready for bed and well looked a bit like a walmart shopper old shirt and hair uncombed ( we know how women are about that )
after things settled down my wife suggested they video my DIL mom's reaction with out her knowing it
they said OH like we just did you .. my wife was so happy but also a bit embarrassed as I reminded her when the spring the news to the other grandparents its going to thanks giving diner and all will be looking nice and well honey your looking ahh lets go with ok 😉

Good news! Congrats! When our daughter and SIL announced their first baby, they asked what we wanted the kids to call us. I told them "Grandad" like what I called my Grandfather, the wife said. "Mrs B#%^". Today the kids call me Grandad, the daughter named my wife "Gannie", much to her dismay.

at 63 years young I was starting to think I may have to rent some grand kids before I kick off
maybe my oldest son and his long time GF will have to keep up ( doubt it but never know )

my wife has wanted grand kids for years she is so jacked up right now on the whole thing but I will add I have been wanting some grand kids also to be honest .
do the grand parent tradition of spoiling them send them back home to mom and dad LOL like our parents did our kids
My departed in laws and my parents also departed ( RIP miss all of them ) my kids loved to visit both sides of the family they knew they ruled and anything was OK went when visiting them
