Thinking about a new trigger for my AR

Any suggestions? Right now I'm leaning towards the Geissele SSA-E Super Semi Automatic Enhanced Trigger Group.

    It's going to depend on what the end use of the AR is. Different uses often will benefit from a different trigger group. There are probably a dozen excellent triggers available nowadays which can be matched to your needs. The Geissele you suggest is excellent and I've used them in several builds.


    Drop-in and single stage are usually easier to tune while multi-part and two stage require some attention to detail and can be a little more tedious to tune. Consistency from the factories is significantly improved over the past.

    I'll mainly be using it for punching paper. Since I am new to the AR platform maybe I should go with a drop-in until I'm more familiar.

    Honestly, if you can install a drop-in trigger unit then you can install a component trigger group. You're driving out two pins, in either case. With the components, just be sure that you have the trigger and hammer springs facing the correct way. It still trips me up every now and then.

    It's not really bad, just a little of a heavier pull than I would like. I'm used to shooting my CZs which have set triggers making them pretty light.

    I have bought several drop in triggers including the Geissele triggers. I find the $125.00 drop in triggers are just fine. if you are paper punching the trigger will help tighten groups. The AR standard trigger by its very design is difficult to get top accuracy from, the camming required for the hammer to fall makes it almost impossible to "fix" into a good trigger with no creep and 3-3.5 pounds of consistent pull.

    sounds interesting, especially for $75. My next question is do I need to buy Anti-Walk Pins or do you just use the existing ones?

    I used anti walk pins in mine got them off the auction site for a very reasonable price

    I can't remember the last two brands I bought but one reason I bought them is they both came with anti-walk pins included.

    Thanks guys I decided to try the hammer head trigger, it was cheap enough that if I don't like it I can try something else. Also ordered some anti-walk pins.
