Proud Uncle tonight!
My 13 year old nephew, gave me the call tonight. He got his 1st whitetail deer!
25-30 yards, 2 shots....the 1st towards the rear and the 2nd before his dad could even udder the words shoot again, right in the heart. He bagged it with dad's 5.56 AR and Federal 62 gr. Fusion ammo. Damn this covid shit.....I wish I could've been there.
He seemed very on the fence about hunting these past couple years, but I think this is the spark that may get him into it for years to come. The deer was nothing spectacular.....just a small doe, but it'll put meat in the freezer.

Always upsets me when folks downgrade a small deer in earshot of the young hunter who killed it . To him or her it is as important as the Boone and Crockett monster that you or I have spent several years tracking .. Always celebrate their accomplishments. Helps hook them into a lifetime pursuit !
