Tell him very politely to go pound sand and then contact customer support. You're gettin' hosed!

Ask that all money be returned. He entered a contract and now is failing to honor it. If you can get your money back do so and end this.

I don’t want my money back, I want that gun!

make sure you keep all correspondence between the two of you ,( just in case) , also print copies of the auction so you have proof of your winning bid ect.

    can we see the listing?

Doesn’t he have to fulfill some kind of contract he has with gunbroker?

Then demand he follow through with the original contract.

Without knowing the specifics of the auction listing I'm having trouble with the added shipping and insurance costs. Perhaps the auction didn't state a set amount for these and he can get by with the charges. These things are usually listed, but some auction have "actual costs" or some such in them, which without clarification can be an issue.

I would simply ask him is he is going to honor the contract or not. No more BS. Then proceed accordingly.

Yeah, like I initially stated, he first said he was a Christian and wouldn’t I be the gentleman while he bent me over and gave it to me. His marriage depended on it.

I don’t care! Pull up your big boy pants and honor the deal. You posted it and accepted my initial payment. Deal closed.

    Right?

there was nothing in the post on the gun about shipping or insurance costs. Grrr...

what is my direction to proceed to make this deal happen. Like i said I want the gun. Anybody?

Rather than be hosed for untold amounts of additional dollars I would demand my money back and run the other way . There are other guns on the market . While I sympathize with your plight it also sounds like you didn’t do your due diligence on shipping costs etc . If unclear ask before you buy .

I recently paid apprx. $9.52 for $600 insurance on a Shotgun I shipped my Son from TN to CO.

Just how much "Insurance" does he feel warrants an additional $150? Is it a really high $$ firearm? (Nevermind, just saw the $1500 firearm comment.) How does he figure extra $150 for Insurance? He's scamming you.

No way would I have coughed that up. Shipping cost Okay. Anything beyond that - (as stated) Go pound sand.

I shipped a gun yesterday insured for over $3000.00 plus an adult signature and it cost just over $40.00. If it goes from coast to coast it would be a couple dollars more. For $150.00 his wife better deliver it. And she better be wearing something sexy.

    This

And the first clue is exactly zero wives would get upset their husband sold a gun. Some get upset when they buy guns.

Doubt you’ll ever get that gun. Time to focus your efforts on getting as much of your money back as you can. Post an auction link and we’ll be able to give more educated answers.

I wouldn't have paid the extra $200, let alone more money on top of it, no matter how bad I wanted the gun. I would demand a refund of all my money and then be patient and wait for a more honest seller.

Probably doesn't have the money anymore either 😂, that's an expensive lesson you just learned.

Forget the gun and try to get your money back. This guy is bad news, and should be removed as a seller. Even if you get your money back, open a support issue with GB support to report this obvious fraud/scam.

If he refuses to refund 100% of your money:

If you paid with a credit card, you can probably stop the charge.

If you paid with USPS money order(s), you will have options through the Post Office, but it will be a struggle.

If you paid with a personal check that has been cashed, or wire transfer, you may be screwed.

I maybe screwed. Can’t imagine that.

oh, well, I contacted the local police department and they are opening an investigation.

i found this on the internet:

    THEFT OF A FIREARM

The items that you are accused of stealing could have a severe effect on what charges you face. When you steal a firearm of any value, you face penalties equivalent to stealing over $35,000 worth of “regular” property. The following penalties may also apply if you used fraud or deceit to steal the property, or committed a theft crime against a vulnerable adult:

    • Up to 20 years behind bars
    • A fine of up to $100,000

    We’ll see how it goes-
