After the Fires
The high country snows have pretty much finely extinguished the Cameron Peak and Troublesome fires. The impact on mountain wildlife is dramatic. I have never seen so many deer, bighorns, and elk down low. You have to be very careful driving the paved roads because the animals are right there due to that's where unburned food can be found. Small wildlife, such as birds, is very scarce. Most of those headed downhill when the fires broke out and have not returned.
