Nothing but if you don’t like it yellow, hit it again and it goes back to normal.

As far as can tell it lets you find a post you were interested in without having to go through the list and try to remember what it was titled. Either that or my tablet will now self destruct. Bob

That post is "bookmarked" and appears on your "Quick Links" menu on the right of the page:
It is a useful feature for the staff who can keep track of threads which have the potential for MELTDOWN.

As usual, Mark’s answer is more accurate than mine. The yellow star bookmarks the thread. From your profile page go to “notification preferences” where you can set up notifications for different things (e.g., an email when a new post is made to a thread you bookmarked).

+1 I get this question a lot, so I'm glad that asop asked it. You MUST go into your profile and indicate that you want to accept notifications, otherwise you will receive none:
Wow, look at me, actually doing real admin work tonight! Rather than banning members, I'm helping them. Hopefully this won't become a habit 😉

Since your into admin work to night 😁 how about this, I use to be able to review a reply/post before hitting post, now I have no review......is this part of a new change or did I screw something up ? Thanks
