If you do a google search for "nomex flight gloves" they are out there for around $40 a pair. Not wool- nomex fire resistive fabric (Thank you, Dupont!) and leather.

Lookup Sportys pilot shop . They most likely have what you are looking for

That's them, been a long time since I had a pair. Thanks!

I think it’s called a man purse. Very popular with Air Force guys.

The wallet thing was bugging the crap out of me too. I had back pain from using a rear pocket wallet.

The easiest fix was to switch to a front pocket wallet. It is shaped to fit the pocket correctly, I carry it on the left leaving my right front pocket for my concealed carry.

I agree with bpost about carrying a wallet in the front pocket of your pants. My trifold fits with room for a small jack knife even in my blue jeans. The wallet carried in any carry bag would lead to lost wallet for this guy. Am glad the Good Lord attached my head to my neck!

My dad always called his "The ditty bag". A quick duckduckgo search reveals that is not the colloquial term for it.

We had no such small bag that I can recall. We had a helmet bag, but that was larger, roughly 16"x16". Wallet and such went into a flight suit pocket, usually one of the chest ones. Guys who flew "heavies" may have used ditty bags because they had lots more room to store such things. The bag used for toiletries and such was called the DOP Kit; maybe that's what you're thinking of.

I still have two pairs of worn flight gloves and one pair that is still brand new - all of them from 40 years ago. I wear them sparingly, obviously, but they are great for driving. As are my last pair of flight sunglasses.

Great link, good sir. Some of those look really nice, even the affordable ones farther down. I really like the Vetelli one.

When I was in the Army, a 'ditty' bag was your dirty laundry bag. It was a green cloth bag with white draw strings on the top.

    Was that during WWI?

I also hate sitting on my wallet. Plus these huge cell phones don't fit pockets either. In the summer, I wear cargo shorts and put my wallet and cellphone in the side / leg pockets.

Winter time, being early retired, I wear a shirt-jack or shirt jacket most everywhere and keep my wallet and phone in the chest pockets.

I also bought a couple pair of LA Police Gear Cargo Pants that are very comfortable.
