That buck looked just like my dog during a seizure. Might have been having one.

Deer are instinctive like most animals, unless two of his FLEE senses are triggered he will just stand there until he figures it all out. Sight (movement), smell and sounds are triggers for these critters. He must have been in full rut where most of his senses are focused in other regions of his body.

A man has to have his priorities and getting shot wasn't on the top of his list. 😍

I had a bear do that to me once. It was like he was flipping through silhouette flash cards in his mind.

When he got to "human" he exited.

Hunting deer a few years ago, saw a couple small bucks coming up the fielld about 400 yards away. I was sitting on my 4 wheeler afixin to head to the shed. One of the bucks stepped into the woods about 200 yards away. The other one just kept coming towards me, there was sort of a path to follow. I sat motionless while he walked right up to me and passed on by on my left, could have reached out and touched him with my hand. His left eye was covered by his antler, not much more than a small fork horn.

Looked like a pretty good buck for the last day of the season.
