    Truly a class act and he will be missed. It is amazing that in this time of the overall dumbing down of the population that a quiz show about general knowledge would last so long. Not sure if Jennings will be accepted as the new host by the viewers but I hope he gets the chance. Bob

    I agree, Bob. I don't think anyone can take Alex's place, but Jennings would be a good choice to replace him.

    Never really watched it unless I was at my parents home.  Once Mom and Dad retired in their late 50s Alex and Wheel of Fortune were mandatory viewing on a nightly basis.  They loved both programs.  Dad died about two years ago at age 93.  Mom is 93 and still alive.  Kinda.  She would feel bad about Alex dying if she could understand it.  Mom and Dad are examples of why living into your nineties isn't a nice experience.

     Memorization is fine but imagination is a key ingredient for being really smart. Standing on the shoulders of giants never hurt however. May he rest in Peace. He was another presence that will be missed.

    I enjoyed watching Alex for many years but it took me a long time to get used to him after Art Flemming.      Kind of showing my age.
