I'll second that. A truly indescribable experience. How they manage to groom (and that is the right word for it) those grounds is beyond me. Not one weed, not one fallen twig, the fairways are smoother than the greens on many courses, and it is all cut to exactly the same height. You would swear it is artificial it is so perfect. It is a LOT steeper than it seems to be on TV.
Hint: if you can, get tickets for Tuesday practice day. That is the ONLY day you are allowed to have a camera of any kind, and you will absolutely want to take pictures.
We flew in to Atlanta on Sunday, toured Augusta city on Monday, had our course visit Tuesday, and flew home Wednesday in time to watch the tournament on TV. If I ever get to go again, that's how I'll repeat.

It might get rained out. Late week forecast shows heavy rains as residual from Eta.
    We'll see.

I remember when the club was on the outskirts of town......agricultural land, now it's completely surrounded by homes and businesses, almost in the center of Augusta.  People/families are making big dollars renting out their homes to Fortune 500 corporations and the other 1%  super rich, it's a good money maker for the city  :)

TV golf, with the commentators back in the broadcast booth whispering so they don't disturb the golfers half a mile away.  Absolutely the best nap inducer on the face of the earth. :)

To be correct, He Dog, the whispering ones are right there greenside, walking along with the golfers. The two in the soundproofed booth over the 18th don't have to.
I will however admit to napping occasionally while I watch. It's a particularly soothing thing.

Interesting, armilite.  Bryson and I both gained 20+ pounds over the winter and spring and he seems to have gained quite a bit bit more length with his driver than have I.  Can still poke a couple out to 300 yards most rounds, but apparently knowing where to add weight is an advantage.

Around here that is affectionately referred to as the Jim Nantz nap

When George Page was the voice of "Nature" my wife could last about two of his opening sentences before she was out. So I deeply appreciate your Jim Nantz nap.

That would be the 16th. Yes, it is a tradition on Practice Day to skip your ball off the water and onto the green. And making a hole in one is also a sort of tradition on that green. Holing it AFTER you skip it is, however, beyond the norm.

Gary McCord in 1994 said (on the air) "They don't cut the greens here at Augusta, they use bikini wax." It got him banned from the grounds forever.

That be awesome if you can carry a 300 yard drive! I am in my 60's let's say and to carry 300 yards those days are over.

DJ played a great game, one of the best I have ever seen there. He had some 350 Yard plus drives and they were spot on.

I am not a Tiger fan. I consider him a despicable human being but I will say he is a very good golfer and can really take the pressure.

Bryson is trying to change the whole game of golf. Everything he does is different from his swing to his putting. He will get it figured out and when he does its going to be a wild ride.

I don't see Wayne Gretski in that pic. above. And she is not the most beautiful one either. Ricki F. has awesome taste.

She has been around the block a few times. I think Tiger had a go at her too.

What I could not believe is they let go out on the field in that outfit at Augusta National.

    Times change.
