I use one of these to change the oil in most of my vehicles.  I don't use this for the motorcycles.

Husqvarna with a Kohler 7000 24hp. The drain is between the starter and the frame in a space about an inch and a half high.😡 Bob

My Bad Boy ZT with a Kohler 27 hp motor has a flexible tube with a cap that clears the frame. If it didn't have it, I would put one on next time I changed the oil.

I found those tubes on Amazon. Almost ordered one and then was looking at the pumps and figured that might be the way to go because I could use it for all of the other small engines like the generator, walk behind mower, etc. Just not sure which one to get. The one iceracerx posted looks good but nobody locally has one. Guess I'll have to order one online. Bob

My small engine mechanic friend said it is difficult to get all the "crud" out of the bottom of the crankcase with a pump. Told me to run the engine for 2 or 3 minutes to stir everything up before draining the oil.

If you've got a shop vac you've got the most expensive part of a fluid extractor.
Here's a youtube vid that explains it better than I could.

Found a pump at the local Tractor supply. Manual vacuum with both large and small hoses for different applications. I changed the oil in the push mower, cyclone rake and 5000 watt generator all in about 45 minutes including warm up time to get the oil flowing.  No mess and easy as pie! Why did I not get one of these years ago. I may be a slow learner but at least I do learn eventually.😁 Bob
