I had a Manx cat that would do that to snakes, just kill them but not eat them.
Had a Mountain cur dog that would kill all kinds of snakes and eat them.
Seen where the cur snake killer had eat the head of a copper head. Few days later the dog got very sick and after she died green infection came out of it's behind. Suspect the fangs of the Cu Head had poisoned the stomach area internally.
