Was that back when they used mercury primers and the brass got too brittle to reload? IIRC they had issues with case failures back then from mercury embritterment. 0 -

I was sorting some 30-06 cases last week and found a Sears headstamp on one.Sears must have had a lot of pull in its heyday to have its own headstamp. 0 -

They acquired the Meriden Firearms company, making handguns, shotguns, and .22 rifles based on Hopkins & Allen design.Sears head stamped ammo was made by Olin and Western Cartridge Co.
