    They must be worth a pile of $$, since they are consecutive serial numbered right??? ;)

    Was that back when they used mercury primers and the brass got too brittle to reload?  IIRC they had issues with case failures back then from mercury embritterment.

    I was sorting some 30-06 cases last week and found a Sears headstamp on one.Sears must have had a lot of pull in its heyday to have its own headstamp.

    Sears actually produced their own guns from 1905 to 1918 after Winchester cut them off for selling Winchesters cheaper than Winchester was. They acquired the Meriden Firearms company, making handguns, shotguns, and .22 rifles based on Hopkins & Allen design.
    Sears head stamped ammo was made by Olin and Western Cartridge Co.
