Been buying ammo for a gun I don't even own
I don't own an AR, but plan on ordering one in the future. In the meantime I've been stockpiling 5.56 ammo. I have a problem.

At least it is still just a small problem. 9 -
That's just an afternoon at the range...but we've all gotta start somewhere. 0 -
You Sir, are going to fit right in here. 👍

The old saying, from a small acorn a mighty oak grows. You got an acorn but can be excused because you don't have the gun yet. Hopefully this craziness ends and you can get one and more ammo at last years prices. Bob 0 -

I'd like to see the amount of ammo of the guns you "do" own, that probably is even more impressive

At least you did not buy M855 "Green Tip." 🤔

I just sold 2 ammo cans of that to my neighbor...KenK/84Bravo said:At least you did not buy M855 "Green Tip." 🤔

Yep. That green tip just bounces off. I threw away two full cans of that mess a few months ago. 0 -

Yes. I like the round also and have a bunch set aside for Squirrel hunting. 😉

I know you. Aren't you the guy that spent all his cash on a new wallet? 3 -
Okay, for a newbie you are earning stars quick stocking up on ammo for your future gun, well done.
Go to your local gun store and buy an AR receiver (or get one on GB), go to the auction side of GB or to Palmetto State Armory and buy the upper and a lower build kit. Don't be afraid of the blem uppers. I have bought a dozen and can't find the blem. I do HIGHLY recommend a lower build kit with out the trigger group. Buy an aftermarket $100-250 drop in 3-3.5 pound trigger right here on GB auctions and shoot a LOT better because of it.They are stupid simple to build. I am happy to help you get through the first one, then it becomes a fun filled joy to assemble one.
The design of the AR trigger is not conducive to accurate rifle fire. The one piece drop in triggers I have tried are all excellent. My aging trigger finger can't "feel" the difference in the $100 and the $250 ones.Anderson receivers are fantastic and so are Palmetto State Armory ones. I suspect Anderson makes most private label receivers for most resellers. After that empty all those boxes of ammo and start reloading!

I do want to build my own at some point, but I'll probably buy my first one. I have my eye on the Springfield Saint Victor. I will definitely put a few rounds through it. As for reloading, I lost all of my equipment and supplies in a house fire a few years back and haven't gotten around to replacing it. I had hoped to get back into it this winter, but with primers impossible to find that probably won't happen. 0 -
My Rock River loves 855, excellent accuracy.OP, I have several stashes of ammo and no firearm to shoot it in, can't pass a good deal and always on the look out for something to fire it in. Nice , cheap Remington CDL or something out of the ordinary in 270 would go well as I have a few cased of that particular ammo.

I buy .50bmg ammo whenever I see a deal. Probably never be able to afford a gun to shoot it though. But it will always hold its value. 0 -
You know that is the only ammo that has not vanished and not increase too much in price. 0 -
You do have a problem if you consider that a stockpile. That look like a fun weekend to me. 0 -
Yep, posted in a couple of places. 0 -
do not take medication for the problem 0
