No beans allowed in Texas chilli competition, although some do have a with beans category... I like it both ways but cannot handle Cincinnati style with there cinnamon and chocolate....0 -

I have had some extremely good slow cooked Beanless Chili on occasion. (Lived in El Paso for a while.) Some former friends cooked it that way as well, at some parties. My personal preference, and what i cook has beanes in it. Pinto & Dark Red Kidney beans or just Dark Red Kidney beans.
OMG hot, is usually what comes out. (No pun intended.)
