You should have bought a Winchester 1300 Defender. That moosberg ain't no good. And the 20 ga. is much too powerful for shootin indoors. You should have bought a .410. You need chartrouse lock tight.

I'm thinking I got it. Seam Grip. A commercial Outdoor Equipment adhesive for sealing tent seams, glueing soles back on boots etc. Rubber/silicone based. Should roll off similar to rubber cement. Went through my stuff, and have some here. Much higher quality adhesive than Rubber Cement. Good stuff. I've used a lot of it over the years.

Takes 8-12 hours to dry. Will tape it in place and let it dry overnight.

*It came off the Win. 1300 Defender I shipped my Son Ricci. I found it way too powerful for my needs. 😉

(Or) I could replace the tail cap on the light, with the supplied rubber push button on/off tail cap. That would be much cleaner, but I would really prefer the instant on/off capability.

    Hmmnn.......................

Put the Rubber button on/off tail cap on it. Clean and simple. May just keep it like that. Still have a nice light on the pump. (Bonus either way.)

So you are talking to yourself, actually having a conversation, but on the forum.

    Exactly.

(I listen to myself much better than you do anyway.)

*Was looking for insight, but I believe I solved my own problem. Thanks.

That was my plan all along Grasshopper.

New velcro - long strip to go all the way around the fore end.

But first clean off any gun oil or oil from your yingers left on the gun.

A huge Thank you FCD. I have a total of four long gun lights, have switched them around over the years. Just took my largest off the Win. 1300 Defender I sent my Son. Mounted it on my Mossberg 500 20 ga. Pump. The other three are significantly smaller, but around 400 lumen.

I've got two more smaller 400 lumen units to mount on other long arms. (One is currently on a Marlin Camp 9 that I have posted a picture of before here.) This issue has always been problematic for me. The velcro I am using is also from a commercial application, I saved about 1ft. from, back a while ago. sticks for a while, but will enevitably come loose.

Let me know if you need a PM.

Thanks for the photo post Ricci. This is the gun/light in question. Decided to go simple. On/off button on the rear cap. No pig tail. No adhesive.

Trying to decide whether to cut the barrel back to 18 1/2 from the current 27 (w/adj choke.)

What say Ye? What would you do?

Not a collector piece, a live outside the safe House Gun. I am leaning towards cutting it down.

A couple three inches would prob. do it FCD. i am familiar with the 2 sided 3M tape. Watched a special on it. It stuck to stuff during hurricanes when all else was flying off in to space. Never really thought about it.

No worries if not Brother. I think I have something figured out. (Seam Grip.)

Not to hijack the original poster (but I think FCD put the solution to his problem in the mail),
Spare barrels are fairly cheap, that's what I did because I sometimes hunt with my gun.  I also added a Hasting slug barrel with sights, so I could participate in a special hunt. (very deadly!)

But if you are talking, strictly a defense shotgun, my vote is get to sawing.

I'd send it to Mike Orlen. Have him bob it and thread for choke tubes. He's as good as, or better, than most out there and not nearly as expensive.

I have 13 different shotguns. I like shotguns. I am thinking of cutting this one down because I got it for a deal. It is not going to appreciate in value. I keep it outside the safe due to those reasons. A House Gun. I like 18 1/2" better than 27" w/the adj choke. (It is not going to be a bird gun.)

I am leaning towards cutting it down. (Rather my Bud down the road with a machine shop.) Gonna do it right. Bevel edges etc.

AHA!!  I FOUND it!!  I knew it wasn't far.  It's called 3M "VHB" and it's actually clear tape with a red backing.  And now that I'm looking at it I remembered how it works.  I also figured out how to ship you some.  What I'll do is ship you 2x as much as you need, I'll explain.
This stuff is in a roll, and one side sticks to the layer underneath it (like normal tape, but this is no ordinary tape).  The other side has a red peel off backing.  So what I'll do is cut two lengths for you.  One will be stuck to the back of the other, just like on the roll.  The other I'll stick to a piece of paper or cardboard.  This way you can peel off the layer you want to use, and just throw the other piece away.  3M specifically developed some kind of a product this stuff doesn't stick to, and that is the backing, which is why I couldn't figure out how to ship it at first.  Now I can see how to do it pretty easily (just use another sacrificial piece of the same stuff).
ETA - Oh, and it's not as thick as I was thinking, maybe 1/16" thick, if that.
ETA 2 - Maybe I'll try to stick it to a piece of plastic, and if you can save that layer you'll just have that much more.  No guarantees on that though cuz once this stuff sticks to something it's on there.

FCD, that VHB (very high bond) is what they use to hold semi traler panels together. It's strong indeed. I've used it for years.

I like these Inforce lights.............have a couple of them. 800 lumens and push button on the back. They are also small.
