    Why do they roll around on it after they kill it?
    My dog does that sometimes with her toys.

    Aside from venom and rattles, rattlesnakes along with other snakes secrete an odious musk out scent glands in their cloaca, especially when being threatened. Just another defense mechanism.

     Cats being cats and dogs being dogs like to roll around in obnoxious things to us like animal feces, dead animals, etc to hide their own scent from other predators.

    Yep it is(was). That cat knows how to deal with rattlers. But I gotta say, that snake took a lickin' and kept on tickin'.
