Look at the new IPhone SE.

Around $400.00. My 6 started dying, 30 minutes to transfer everything and up and running.

I am on AT&T , my phone was on it's way out so I stopped in Walmart. A cutie in electronics showed ne phones & after checking on my plan & the fact I never did up grades over the years the cost of a new $500 phone was $ 40 .Try that with your plan

I have an old (4 years) iphone SE & like it, but I paid only $200 (promotional sale).  That's the most I would pay for any phone.
I suggest that you go to Tracphone or Consumer Cellular or even AT&T & you should be able to get a serviceable phone made in China with a name you never heard of for $100.  (Where do you think iphones are made?)

About a year ago I had to say goodbye to me beloved IPhone 4. I had had it for years and was used to it. Wound up with an IPhone 8 and I like it a lot. It’s bigger than the 4 but it operates and looks similar to the 4.

I have never had a new phone . I still get hand me downs from the wife and son . Whenever the latest and greatest hits the market they feel compelled to upgrade so I get their old phone . Typically it is only 2 to 3 years old at that time . Currently on an apple iPhone 6 s . Due to get a 1&1/2 year old Samsung something or other next week !

I had a Motorola Quantico (flip phone) for about 15 years and loved it.  It went gunnysack a while back so I found a refurbished one on the bay.  US Cellular wouldn't even activate it!  WTH?   Wound up having to buy a Sonim something-or-other that I completely hate.
I absolutely dread the day that I have no other option but to get a smart phone.
