Peanut Butter
A day or two ago, I bought a new-to-me rifle. It was in nice condition except it had sticky tape residue from price tag or something on the stock. I showed it to my wife and asked if she thought alcohol or goo-gone would take it off without damaging the stock finish. She said use peanut butter. So I smeared peanut butter on it and let it set for a short while. It worked! The mess wiped right off.
But now she has a problem: She often complains, "You never listen to me!" The next time she says that, I've got a two word response. "Peanut butter"!

LOL I believe the oils in the peanut butter loosen the goo but glad it worked for you and you do have a snappy new comeback for her 0 -
PB also works on chewing gum in carpets...gum in hair+++...!!!

You should know that the times that you actually do listen to her don't count and are quickly forgotten.

If acetone, toluene, gasoline or MEK can't remove it.... LEAVE IT ALONE!

Works well on tree sap too. Not sure but, I think Crisco might work also. Maybe not as well as PB though. 0 -
I have worked with a couple of "old school" guys.............they treat that stuff like water. I guess its part of the job............most recently is AC work where brazing joints results in the creation of phosgene gas. That stuff is nasty.bpost said:If acetone, toluene, gasoline or MEK can't remove it.... LEAVE IT ALONE!

I was a lab tech in the Army and we had big bottles of toluene that we used to clean our glass-ware..............nasty stuff. 0
