The Ancient Art of Fly Killing
When I don't have my Bug-a-Salt handy and the need arises, I can kill flies bare handed. I learned over the years and eons of practice that one must lead them much as you would when bird hunting.
One must slap the hands together in front of the fly in the direction of anticipated flight. Slapping them together where the fly is currently located enables him to outfly the slap. Anticipating flight trajectory allows the fly to place himself between the hands at the moment of impact.
That is all.

You still have to have quick hands. When we were teens, a friend could catch lizards out of the branch. He had the quickest hands. I would catch maybe three to his 20. 0 -
When I was a kid a friends mother would pick then right out of the air, one handed!! I never saw her miss a fly. It was very impressive!! 0 -
I've always got a kick and a good chuckle from Uncle Jed's & Jethro's target shooting from their porch to the main gate! "Hey Jethro, you see that fly on top of that matchhead over there?"

I hate the dirty bastages and have killed many. I think they take off backwards and see things in slow motion to avoid death. I snatched one ,by the legs, with my first two fingers, once. I think we were both shocked 0
