Awakened by gunfire......
About 2am in the morning..........sounded very close. I live in an apt. complex. I was lightly sleeping and counted 6 shots. Sounded like 9mm. Grabbed my gun and turned off the TV to kill the sound and light. Checked the blinds on the door front door and window (I live in an efficiency).......opened the door and checked outside..........nothing. Laid back down and was watching a little TV when a few minutes later I heard 3 more shots......OK..........kill the TV again......check blinds......take a look outside. Saw some flashlight beams coming from the unseen side of my building so I just ducked back inside. Saw 3 or 4 police officers come around the corner checking things out.......since I didn't have much useful information I just stayed inside and watched.
Learned later today from another resident that somebody was drunk and wanted to "celebrate"......shell casings recovered in the parking lot maybe 75 feet from my front door. Dang......this is normally a really quiet place.

I will add.........apparently one resident knows who was responsible for this..........don't think the police ever determined where it came from or what it was related to. 0 -
Common where I live. I have a 9mm and a .45 hole in the carport. I have dug .22 out of the shingles and patched a hole in the roof of the garage. Sign of the times. Idiots don't get that if it goes up, it will come down. Every few years a kid is hit by a bullet coming through the roof. 0 -

Common in Florida. Picture of bullet stuck in neighbors carport roof. Many bullets made it into homes. One lady was at her dining table and a bullet crashed through and broke a serving plate in front of her.
