JC Higgins Model 31, made by High Standard 9 -
Thank again you sir ☺ 0 -
High Standard made a number if similar but different models for Sears Roebuck that included the Model 31. There were more than one version of each numbered model.
The Model 28 had 2 variations
The Model 29 had 4 variations
The Model 30 had 3 variations
The Model 31 had 4 variations
The Model 33 had 3 variations
The Model 34 had 4 variations
The Model 35 had 3 variations
The Model 36 had 2 variations
The Models 33 and 35 were pump action the others were semi-auto.
There was not a separate trigger group for each variation but Without checking I suspect that each model had at least one Trigger group variation.
Right side and top views might help narrow the possibilities.0 -

I guess I now need to do some research.
My first thought is that it is missing the disconnector.
That has the cast throat parts so that is a decent clue.0 -
The disconnector style would narrow the model but that isn't possible.
It is also missing the hammer strut, hammer spring and the pin that retail them.
The Model 28 , 30 and early 29 used a different housing. So that leaves the later Models 29, 31, 34, and 36.
Sorry I can't be more specific.0 -
That is great information and helps me along the way.
take care and thanks again
