    I thought it was Columbus day.

    It is also National Farmers day.

    Well, the answer is, "It depends".
    Columbus Day is still a federal holiday.  It will take Congressional action to remove that status.  Your state or local government can decide to keep it, replace it with Indigenous Peoples' Day, or drop it from the calendar.
    My County Executive decided to switch to IPD.  I just sent him an email, suggesting that he take the second Monday of October off of the county holiday calendar, beginning next year.  County employees can give the citizens one more day of work each year, & those who want to celebrate IPD can do so on their own.

    In Portland they took down statues of Lincoln and Roosevelt yesterday
