As I understand it, the issue lies with a law which requires an ammunition seller's license for anyone who sells or delivers ammunition inside the state. Obviously, this law was intended for businesses located inside the state, but the Mass. AG has taken the opinion that it applies to any business in any location that wants to sell/ship ammo to Mass. I don't know about the costs, but Mass. is a tiny state with a small population which is not known for purchasing large numbers of guns. That means that the bottom line doesn't look promising for out of state sellers, few of whom are keen on obtaining state specific licenses and permits. It appears the AG's office has effectively prohibited shipping ammo to Mass.

This my interpretation. Your mileage may vary.

    Reading my mind. Road trip.

PA., NH. (Both Way more Gun Friendly than MA.) Better yet, contact a friend in one of those States to purchase the ammunition for you, then drive and pick it up.

*Why bother regulating Firearms? All you gotta regulate is the purchase of ammunition, as people are finding out.

(And) People over the years have asked me, "Why do you feel the need for so much ammunition? What are you expecting?" When Buddies of mine were buying up the newest greatest Firearm, I was purchasing necessities. Planning for the long game.

I told people way back when, "There will come a time when you wish you had stocked up, and have more than you have now. "

*As stated previously, Why regulate Firearms, when all you have to do is regulate the purchase of ammunition?

Kittery Trading post like Ricci said.  Its about 70 miles up I95 from Boston and there is a great clam house up the road to eat at.

I went there years ago when I was in ME and had a blast, great place.

My other advice is to move.  Move to a free state but don't bring any Mass ideas with you leave them in Mass.

Mass being one of those states where you have to have a permit to buy ammo shippers will not be liable and ship to an individual. Before going to Kittery I would call first and check on inventory and hours of operation. Maine was one of those states that was severely limiting public businesses. Haven't followed it lately so I could be out of date. Right across the road is The Weathervane. Best seafood in the area.
