Agree 1000% James, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to really matter anymore..

I wish the best for your community, the police department, and the officer involved.

News article stated the victim was 'a pillar of the community', well known and liked.  He was a city employee, but didn't state in what capacity.  He was trying to diffuse a  domestic violence situation.

Nobody should need more than a single shot shotgun and a bullet for it.

sorry for the LEO . no matter the reason he will be n the dog house
as stated right or wrong it does not matter mob rules  just looking for a loot , burn, protest , excuse any more .
my 2 cents its sad  politician's  allow such BS ,      fine protest your right file legal complaints use the courts
but seems like that's no fun , now  burning looting fighting destroying millions of dollars of private and public property maybe just maybe have to spend a night in jail if caught ..  noting too loose or penalty to face .

Rioting, looting, brigandry, and other forms of property destruction described as peaceful protest by the main stream media is confined mostly to large DEMOCRAT cities, I think Wolfe City is safe and the residents wont put up with that crap.

Sounds sad..........would like to see body cam or surveillence camera footage.

One thing to consider is that most officer involved shootings are related to domestic violence calls.........might be worth thinking twice before getting involved in one of those situations as a civilian.

From what they have released, it does not sound good.
Don't know the demographics of the region, but rumor has it that some people are paying others to travel to cause trouble.
Dawnie et al are your main concerns.
    Remember David that you are.....retired.
Just keep everyone safe, should things go to downhill.

One thing that is prevalent with these type issues is that we never get the full story in the beginning.  Again, let's hope the officer was in the right.

Hope is good, but I believe this officer is penitentiary-bound for a long time

Read this earlier, sounds like the cop screwed up, badly.

I worked lots of domestic violence cases when I was a paramedic.   We would get to the scene, the woman is all beat up, has a broken nose.  We are treating her.  The husband is stomping around, drunk.  The woman is telling us in loud voice what a violent monster he is.
I call the cops on my radio, the cops arrive and start to handcuff the husband, and the woman jumps up and pushes the police away and says "Leave my baby alone.  I love him!"  Then she would refuse to press charges.

Saw it happen all the time.  I got real sick of running domestic violence calls and so did the cops.   We would go out on the same pair of Love Birds two or three times in a year.  On that third call, sometimes, the woman was beaten to death.  Or, she managed to pull the .38 and the husband was dead.   Then, she got charged with murder.

I got sick of running domestic violence calls.
So, the dead black guy in this news report sees a domestic violence argument at the gas station, and he thinks he is going to intervene and do the world some good.  He was probably just ignorant of what he was getting in to but his chances of doing the world any good were about zero percent.

I actually enjoyed Assault-Family Violence calls.  Aside from the inherent danger, they were always entertaining, and at the end of it all, I got to put someone in jail.

You are getting the short end of the deal however, when lawyers and expert witnesses get in divorce court as a business over who gets the children and the pets & house for the court cost are astronomical! Some lawyers make some big money over this game in court. B) This is why new marriages are falling and old ones failing and men are walking away from commitments. The economy and both husband and wife having to work is not helping either.
