An area police “policy” could improve

One thing I believe is a systematic issue among police departments is the PR guy is always on camera encouraging local citizens to be good victims.

I think this is the wrong message and instead of preaching preparedness, it is conditioning people to be better victims.

This video is earlier this week in the Orlando area.


The perps called out to the victim prior to the video starting- he was outside of his car and they were 30 or so feet out. As he had no means of defending himself, he simply got into his car and hoped it would all work out.


The police repeatedly praise him for being a great victim.

Terrifying armed carjacking in Windermere-area caught on camera
Orange County deputies are asking for help identifying two people who carjacked a man outside his home in the Windermere-area Monday night. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office released video of the armed carjacking on Wednesday. The video shows two people run up to a man in a driveway around 10 p.m. on Monday. The two people order the victim to get out of the car and force him to the ground. One of the carjackers then punched the victim in the head, the report said.     I agree. It seems people are being conditioned to be victims.

    The perps look to be about 14.  I'd bet that the gun is a toy, but I say that from the safety of my living room.
    FL is a mostly free state; if I were a resident, I would never go out at night without my CCW.
