I need bunches of prayers for my wife!!

Momma has open heart surgery tomorrow to repair or replace her mitral valve.  They are going in through her breast bone.  Supposedly only a 3 1/2 to 4 inch incision.  Except for this valve issue she is the healthiest person I know.   Momma is a super young 48.  She looks 10 years younger than 48 and acts like she's 20.  Not a lick of sense, everything must be her way, right away.  I know she will come home and not listen to the surgeon directions so I have my work cut out for me.  Somehow I will have to keep her down and healing.  I think my best bet is one of those Veterinarian  dart tranquilizer guns!        :)          I'm not kidding!!

Both of us believe in the power of prayer, the more the better, so please bless us with your prayers.  Thank you!!  All of you!!

    I had it done in 2005 dreher. It was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be recovery wise. I was walking up and down the hallway and stairs on my second day. (I believe I was 41 and in excellent health.) That is a huge bonus. The people that have a difficult time in recovery are the overweight smokers that are out of shape. (Doesn't sound like your Wife.)

    I went on a multi-day backpacking trip in the Catskills 4 weeks after surgery.

    Of course good thoughts and Prayers coming your way.

    (Yes, I only have a 3 1/2-4" scar below my right breast. Hard to even see anymore.)

    On the listening to instructions issue.  One of the things I tell surgery patients, especially heart surgery patients is:   You are making a large investment in yourself by having this operation.   I'm not talking about money, I'm talking about time, effort , pain, emotional tax and  healing.   You owe it to yourself to give yourself the best chance  you can to recoup that investment.  Follow instruction, be patient with yourself, allow your body to heal, follow instructions and get set for the future.

    Thank you so much for praying for my wife!!  I'm going to ask you to do it again when we get a new surgery date.  Surgeon just cancelled for tomorrow due to a stomach bug.
