Loaded Mags

I’ve wondered that too. Spring steel seems to have improved quite a bit, but how long can you keep one full before starting to lose spring response/reliability?

If the spring is properly made the life of it is many decades. Look at car valve springs, we give them no thought and decades later they are still fine after being cycled billions of times. 0 -
I can say from what I have unofficially "tested" through yhe years, NO effect. I had an AK mag, AR mag and a 45 auto mag stuck back. After several moves I found them in some stuff. I know for a fact that they have been loaded for at least 20 plus years. I went to range blasted them off and nary a problem. 0 -
Springs lose their ability to "spring" by actuating hundreds of thousands - if not millions - of times. The spring being 100% relaxed or 100% compressed has no detrimental effect on the spring itself. The metal only breaks down via the act of compressing and decompressing. 3
