Fears Grow That Trump Will Pull Military Into Election Unrest
President Trump gave officials no solace on Wednesday and Thursday when he again refused to commit to a peaceful transfer of power no matter who wins the election, and on Thursday, he doubled down by saying he was not sure the election could be “honest.” His hedging, along with his expressed desire in June to invoke the 1807 Insurrection Act to send active-duty troops onto American streets to quell protests over the killing of George Floyd, has incited deep anxiety among senior military and Defense Department leaders, who insist they will do all they can to keep the armed forces out of the elections.
“I believe deeply in the principle of an apolitical U.S. military,” General Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in written answers to questions from House lawmakers released last month. “In the event of a dispute over some aspect of the elections, by law, U.S. courts and the U.S. Congress are required to resolve any disputes, not the U.S. military. I foresee no role for the U.S. armed forces in this process.”
But that has not stopped an intensifying debate in the military about its role should a disputed election lead to civil unrest.

There are public calls for revolution during organized protests. Of the thousands in the crowd, no one objects. Different cities and different crowds.

My wife is from Russia. Which, in our house, means Russian TV station #1 is on if the TV is on. The Russian TV news coverage of the riots is embarrassing to watch. What I see on Russian TV is a lot worse than what is shown on U.S. TV.
The problem is that neither the Russians or the American TV stations tell the truth. The only real question is which is the biggest liar??3 -
I honestly think Trump will follow the Constitution on this matter.
If the mayors and governors ask for it then, GO TRUMP.There is some speculation that the "peaceful" protest could spread out into the burbs and rural areas.May God have mercy on their souls as a 5.56 or 7.62 will show none.

We will never know the truth, so much has been done already to insure a failed election process it will be in doubt no matter the numbers reported. That said Trump may as well declare victory now

If there's as much chance of an illegal vote in November as what has been predicted, maybe the military should be standing guard to prevent this from happening.
I saw something last night that brought this starkly into focus. The Somali influence in Minnesota balloting fraud was displayed and put up some serious questions regarding "ballot harvesting", buying votes, and voter influencing. It's like "Yes, we did that but what are you going to do about it now?" Seriously, someone needs to be prosecuted and made an example of what happens.0 -
