Bought some more Ammo , still no gun

I have it narrowed down to a Springfield XDM, EAA Witness, or a Ruger SR1911 . Found this stuff on GB, not a lot of HP out there     Loaded hotter than most 10mm.

    You already know this but it bears repeating,

    If it comes down to ball ammo or nothing...

    The rules of self denfense still apply - shoot until the threat is eliminated.

    Double-tap then repeat as necessary.

    Agree, I also don't see the need to shoot expensive ammo into the dirt....

    I have a Witness in .45 and it is a fine pistol. I like it a lot more than the XD I had. One in 10mm would be a great.

    I bought a 500rd case of S&B 180gr JHP 10mm back in June for $169.90 from Grab a Gun.
    Also bought a used Glock 21 + 3 - 10mm G20 mags and a G20 barrel.
    Well - thinking I need a heavier recoil spring as it didn't feed at all.

    I said the same thing to my Sister when I gave her a carry piece, a few weeks back. Gave her a couple boxes of flat nose .38spcl and removed 6 rounds of soft lead semi jacketed HP, and handed them to her. I told her basically the same thing. Told her, you load these rounds when you are carrying and no longer practicing.

    I am not a big stock piler of ammo. But, I've got 5k rounds of 10mm loaded and enough brass and powder for another 10k. Projectiles are what I'd run out of first. If you reload, Berry's plated bullets make nice reload plinking ammo. You can load them to warm to almost hot .40 S&W loads before plating deforms and leading starts to be an issue.
    I've got some pet loads for 5-6" barrels using those plated HP loads. I don't remember which one my main go-to is for sure. I think it is blue-dot. I also really had good luck with 800x (if I remember right).I could look them up when I get home and give you what I found if you'd like.
    BTW, I STILL carry DoubleTap in my CCW and critical guns. Though I have been loading for 5+ years, I still prefer DT loads. They are hotter than mine too. I would bet he, Underwood, and Buffalo Bore all use some kind of blended powder not available to us mere mortals.
