2020 is just crazy
And getting crazier. First Covid then the riots, hurricanes, fires, economic disasters and then today I made contact with my birth mother. I was given up for adoption at birth in 1969. Her sister found me through a Ancestry.com dna match. I talked to both of them today. My parents always said they would help me find her if I ever wanted. I wasn’t even looking. I had just done the ancestry thing to learn about my background (I’m Portuguese, Irish & German). Pretty emotional day to say the least! My adoptive Mom..who will always be my mom, was very happy to hear the news too. Birth mother was really young and her father basically wouldn’t allow her to keep me. Ok 2020 what’s next?!!

My sister was in the same boat too. My parents gave her up for adoption at birth. about 1974-5 Mom told me about her. My brothers wife started searching for her and through some rather shaky dealings found her in Missouri. In 1995 she and her family came east for a reunion. It was amazing how much she resembled Mom. We keep in touch and visit each other every few years. 3 -
Congratulations to you and everyone else on this grand reunion! 9 -

At least this is a positive for 2020, Ruger. 6 -
That's great. Sounds like you had some loving parents that raised you.
Young girls back then didn't have much say in that sort of thing and were scared to death and did what they were told to do. If she had been a few years older things would have been totally different.
Keep us posted on how it goes.
Good luck to you.3 -

Congrats ruger41. Sounds like things worked - will work - out well for you.Didn't find my dad until I was 45 years old (quite a while ago)Good that we didn't find each other sooner, and we both had time to settle down - a bit.If we would have met sooner, it could have been like the Johnny Cash song where they ended up,
kicking and a' gouging in the mud and the blood and the beer. But it turned out OK, we were friends up until he passed. So take the time to enjoy it now. You never know what life is going to bring you.
