Surf and limb

Can't really call if surf and turf feel free to clarify the handle.

I shot a mess of squirrels this morning then caught a mess of fish and was home with everything cleaned by 12 noon.

    You scored a quinella. I’ve always wanted to kill 6 squirrels and catch six trout (daily limit)in the same day. Came close a couple of times.

    I've done it with Squirrel and Dove back 60 years ago. Hunt squirrel early in the morning and then Dove season opened at Noon during September and October. 

    I was checking out Dove season in Tennessee for 2020 and was surprised to see that these days Dove season opens at Noon on opening day and then 1/2 hour before sunrise until sunset the rest of the time. WTH would a person be doing hunting Dove before sunrise? They would have to be bushwhacking them out of the trees at that time of the morning. NOBODY in my part of the world looked kindly upon anyone BUSHWACKING dove from the trees in the old days. 

    "Tennessee’s dove season is once again divided into three segments: Sept. 1 through Sept. 28; Oct. 10 through Nov. 1; and Dec. 8 through Jan. 15, 2021. Hunting times, other than opening day, are one-half hour before sunrise until sunset."

    The fish were primarily bluegill with a couple of small bass a couple of channel cat.   My buddy's pond is overstocked with small bass so we keep some to thin them out.   The channel cats were about three pounds each.  Nice bluegill 10-12 inches.   I brought home 16 fish, all I felt like cleaning today.

    There's plenty of light a half-hour before sunrise for safe hunting and target identification. And, they are up and flying. It is the same for waterfowl. Deer season in the state I hunt is also the same.

    You all are pretty good.   When I was writing, clever titles were alluding me.   I knew someone would come through with the appropriate terminology..
