hope this doesn't sound racist........
but gave the local elementary school my granddaughter goes to a large holiday flag over a year ago, I found it in some things while we were cleaning up after a distant aunt died, she had it in her basement. It did have small waterstains but was usuable. the school must have a 50ft flagpole and were flying a 3x5 flag that just looked out of place. I gave the flag folded up to the school pricipal over a year ago she, seemed in my opinion a strong participant in the liberal LBG..... whatever feminist group I don't think I ever saw her smile anytime the few years I knew her. she never did fly it and I asked the secretary in the office a few times if they were gonna use it, never got a straight answer. Well this year they got a new pricipal a younger man who just took over when school started this fall, I noticed when I went to get my grandson this morning they are flying they big flag, I know it isn't a holiday but it does look so much better on that pole than that little 3x5, and I told the secretary to tell the gentleman I appreciated him doing it, seems he found it in the bottom of a filing cabinet when he was cleaning up the office after she left, I'll just never understand her thinking..........

The real problem is that she and people like are allowed positions where they influence the minds of children. 9 -
Don't try to understand her thinking. It was unimportant. Off her radar. Take it as a win that she graciously took it when you handed it over, at least she didn't overtly insult you.
You should make it a point to be there in the afternoon when they take it down, to see if they know anything about flag etiquette. It could be a great teaching moment.0 -

My dad had a 48-star flag that had flown over some fort. and I'd help him hang it every Independence Day. It was about 7' wide and proportionally longer than that, and we hung it from the soffits of his house facing the street.

Not even similar in scope, but I have an American Made heavy Cotton Flag from the late 60's early 70's. (From my Dad.) The colors are super vibrant. Nothing like inexpensive polyester flags from China. (It's been a long time, but I have posted about it before.) Super Proud of it.
American Flags, should be made in America. (And) Not out of polyester.
Original box, taken out and flown on Special occasions. (Like 9/11)
