Got my last unemployment check today
Been off work since March 15th. The state said I could file for an extension but if they pay me and the Federal government decides to extend their aid I would have to reimburse the state the money I collected from them. Fat chance I'm good where I'm at.

Hmmmm....sorry about your misfortune, but you’re complaining about people giving you free money?

I though the Federal unempolyment money was in addition to any state money you receive ?????????. That's why many didn't want to return to work, they were doing very good financially sitting at home. Taxes due on the income I can understand but total reimbursement on state aid I don't. 0 -
There is a HUGE issue with fraud and the unemployment claims via identity theft issues. Several individuals have apparently had their socials compromised and their employers are getting notices from the unemployment department stating the employee is filing a claim even though the employee is still working full-time and has not filed a claim. In some of the instances, the employee is a lady and the claim is filed under a prior last name. The state unemployment agencies were encouraged to rush things through to get the checks flowing to the unemployed and did not or could not take the time to make sure the claim was legit. Sad thing is, if the perp gets caught, they will just get a little slap on the wrist. It is not a deterrent to the crooks. 0 -
It's certainly not free if you have to pay it back.scooterdriver said:Hmmmm....sorry about your misfortune, but you’re complaining about people giving you free money?

That wasn't an issue with the first round of unemployment but it is if there is to be a second round. I'm out of money but there are still thousands here that haven't gotten a dime yet back to March 15th.Junkballer said:I though the Federal unempolyment money was in addition to any state money you receive ?????????.
