It's a bit clearer over here too Steve. Looks like maybe some showers on Friday, hopefully it makes it over there w/o starting any more fires.

What town are you in over there, Toad?  Are you close enough to any of the fires that you're under any kind of evac notice?
My dad down in Talent was finally able to get back to his house yesterday.  He is one happy camper!

Bright red sunrise and sunsets here in Michigan. Atmosphere has enough crap in it that you can look directly at the sun during those times. Bob

I am in Forest Grove. The closest fire was the powerline fire, but it was about 5 miles SSW of me. Luckily we haven't had any evac notices..

We have the west's  smoke haze here on the Atlantic coast.
    Wow.

I heard on the radio yesterday that Portland Oregon now has the worst air quality of any city in the world due to the smoke from the fires.  You'd think that'd tamp down the idiots a bit they seem to keep cropping up!

We got about 1/2" of rain yesterday and into last night. Cleared the smoke a bit.

Near the Indiana/Michigan line last night at about 7. You could see an occasional cloud yesterday with the slightly tinted haze way up above them.

Good luck to you guys that have this smoke down low.

Things (wind) changed this afternoon... went from decent, compared to this morning, to sucks azzzzzzzz, again... Looks like tomorrow night the wind might change, and bring some rain. First measurable moisture in about 80-90 days...
