    Can you tell me exactly the depth of the holes drilled in the top of the receiver in both inches and millimeters. I want to see if I have any screws to fit the holes.  Oh and what kind of trees are those?? And that deer has a queer expression. Is he ok??

    I got an email today that said...."Mr McKay, I assume you have a storefront in Locust Fork.   I'd like to come by and purchase this item today and avoid bidding on the auction."   

    I didn't have the heart to tell him everything that was wrong in his message.

    I don't think that message is for you.  He's wanting Larry to sell it to him out of the pole barn behind the house.  
    Write him back and tell him you intercepted Larry's message.

    Since that is an engraved Marlin, I'm surprised how much use it has seen.  The wear is all the type of wear that comes from lots of hunting!!  I'll bet that rifle could tell some serious stories about how many deer it took in the past.  If a younger person buys it there may be lots of deer in its future!

    I wasn't told any background, but it sure is wonderful.   I'm certain it will be a favorite in every collection it belongs in from now to the end of time.
